OMHA and Roger Neilsons Hockey team up to offer Development 2 clinic

RICHMOND HILL -  -  The Ontario Minor Hockey Association [OMHA] has partnered with Roger Neilsons Hockey to offer Development 2 certification as an add-on at the 25th Annual Roger Neilsons Coaches Clinic [RNCC] to be held at the University of Windsor, ON - June 8-10, 2012.

Roger Neilsons Coaches Clinic was established in 1988 and is regarded as the pre-eminent symposium in the world. Open to coaches from Minor Hockey to Pro, the Clinic itinerary includes 15 presentations from some of the games sharpest minds from the NHL, Minor Pro, Europe, NCAA and Major Junior along with specialists in Strength & Conditioning, Video, Team-Building and Performance Psychology. RNCC is also accredited by the OMHAs Continuing Education Program [CEP] and qualifies for 20 refresher points.

The Development 2 clinic is designed for coaches working with players at the Competitive Level [Rep - Peewee & above] and is designed to be the elite-level clinic offered by the OMHA.

D2 clinic participants will be required to participate in a 3-hour evening session on June 7th ahead of the regular start of the RNCC the following morning. Participants will then attend the RNCC featuring lectures by NHL/Pro coaches and specialists, practice drills and on-ice demonstration run by experienced professionals, an insightful Forum - Q&A with some of the games sharpest minds, and more. The D2 certification requirement also includes a formal post-clinic evaluation including a Field Evaluation and completion of a Coach Workbook.

Development 2 [D2] Selection Criteria
1. Applicant must hold current NCCP Development 1 certification
2. Preference will be given to Coaches working at the Rep Level – Peewee & above [Clinic curriculum is geared to this level and Field Evaluation will need to be completed with team of this level]
3. Applicant must be registered for the Roger Neilsons Coaches Clinic to take advantage of the special pricing
4. Applicant must complete OMHA D2 Application and submit via email to the attention of Marshall Starkman – Director, Roger Neilsons Hockey

Clinic Pre-Task Assignment
Clinic participants must complete the NCCP Development 1 Coach Workbook – Post Task assignment [in its entirety]. Participants will need to bring the completed assignment with them to the D2 clinic and is a requirement for certification
