Ajax Knights Bantam AE Win Cambridge Tournament

The Ajax Knights Bantam AE Hockey Team were victorious last weekend in the Cambridge Hawks Festival of Friendship Tournament.
They opened the tournament with a 5-0 victory over the Brampton Rockets. Michael Mouawad was solid in net earning the shutout and Josh Hall scored a hat trick. Sean O`Brien and Zach Fleming rounded out the scoring.
The second game was played against a tough Hamilton Cyclone squad. Ajax fought hard and won 2-1. Josh Morrell scored both Ajax goals. Ajax tied their last game in the round robin against the Woodstock Navy Vets with a score of 2-2. Scoring for Ajax were James Reid and Matthew Carpe.
Ajax finished first in their division and went on to play the second place finishers in pool A the Kitchener Rangers. Kitchener opened the scoring early in the second period but Ajax fought back. Rielly Flynn tied the game early in the third Derek Livesey scored the winning goal with just over a minute left in the game.
This finals were a rematch with the Hamilton Cyclones. Ajax scored two goals in the first and worked hard to help goalie Matt Ferreira earn the shutout and the 2-0 championship win.
