Tuesday, December 04, 2012 Midland, ON: - They started the weekend on Friday night with Caledonia in a 5-1 win. Next they faced Innisfil. In a tight 1st and 2nd periods with a 1-0 score Midland got 2 quick goals in the 3rd period to clinch the win 3-0. In their 3rd game of round robin play they were set to play Lindsay. Midland took the early lead in the first period and kept it going win with a score of 7-0. Midland ended up seeded as the first place team going into the Semi-finals. Getting set to play Owen Sound the wild card and knowing they were down a teammate they had to dig deep and win this game. Scoring 1 goal per period they won the game with a score of 3-1 to advance to the finals. They were now up against Cobourg for the championship. In a very tight first period they started the 2nd in a 0-0 tie. The second period brought another very close match up going into the intermission with a tied score of 1-1. In the 3rd period Midland pulled ahead about 4 minutes in. Cobourg wasn`t going to give up easy and at 31 seconds left Midland scored and empty net goal to secure the win. Good Luck in Port Huron!
