Whitby Wildcats Minor Peewee A Blue Wins Cobourg regional Silver Stick Qualifier

The Whitby Wildcats Minor Peewee A Blue hockey team returned home this weekend [November 30th-December 2nd] Champions of the Cobourg Regional Silver Stick Qualifier. The Boys fought hard through the round robin going undefeated with wins over Port Perry[ 3-0], RWC Crusaders [7-0] and Quinte [6-0]. In the Semi finals they faced Whitby White, after a hard fought battle the Boys came out on top with a 5-2 win.
In the Finals Whitby faced a strong and talented team from Napanee. After going down 1-0 early in the first period, the team fought back and tied it up. It was 1-1 going into the second period when the Boys showed their true heart and character scoring to take a 2-1 lead into the third. With just under 3 minutes left in the third period Whitby scored a third goal to secure the win and their place in the International Silver Stick Final in Newmarket [January 10th-13th.]
