Ingersoll, ON: -
Mission Accomplished!!!! The Ingersoll Express Novice REP team completed their mission for gold with a 3-2 Double OT win vs. Ottawa. Ingersoll''s Davin Gray [assisted by Tye House] opened the scoring when he blasted a wrist shot from the slot to give Ingersoll the 1-0 lead. Alex Schuett [assisted by Wyatt Adkins] went end to end to eventually roof the second Express goal. A two minute mental lapse on their powerplay allowed Ottawa to score two short handed goals to even the score. Dominic Kingsbury save 4 of 6 shots in the first two periods. To start the third period rookie Carter Spence held off the Ottawa attack with strong goal tending. After regulation the score was even at 2-2.... After the first overtime the score stayed at 2-2. Early in the second overtime period Ottawa could smell blood in the water as Ingersoll''s short bench seemed to lose some steam, but it was Spence who made continous save after save to keep Ingersoll alive. An Ottawa penalty allowed Ingersoll to go on the powerplay where Ethan Macpherson [Gavin Bryant, House] made a beatiful wrap around play to find the back of the cage to give the Express the 3-2 victory!
